Australasian and World Rescue Challenges 2011

The 2011 Australasian Rescue Challenge (ARC) and World Rescue Challenge (WRC) will be held concurrently in Wellington, New Zealand from 14 to 17 July 2011.  The decision to relocate the challenge is following the devastating earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand in February 2011.

The two challenges will be conducted under the same set of challenge rules, which have been published on both the ARRO and WRO web sites. Both challenges will also be scored using the same set of assessment guidelines and score sheets also published on both web sites.

For the benefit of teams and officials participating in the challenges, the following documents provide a brief summary of the classes being presented in the challenges and the changes that have been made by the ARRO Technical Committee since 2010.

Teams participating in the WRC should also note that the WRO has agreed to trial these modified rules at this year’s World challenge as part of a process of continuous improvement in the science of road rescue.
