The World Rescue Organisation is a Charity registered in England and Wales, a Private Company Limited by Guarantee and a not for profit organisation. Its registered office is located at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, Anstey Frith, Leicester Road, Glenfield, Leicester LE3 8HD. Charity number 1100525 and Company number 4583084.

It has been created to facilitate the dissemination of emergency rescue and medical techniques, practices and procedures for the effective management of Road Traffic Collisions and care of those involved. The application of such knowledge can save lives, reduce incidence of disability and dramatically improve long term outcomes.

The World Rescue Organisation will draw on the experience of its regional members operating in Australasia ARRO, South Africa RSA, United States of America TERC USA & Canada TERC Canada, United Kingdom UKRO and our partners to develop national bodies, the challenge concept and produce training programmes and initiatives that assist rescue and medical crews whilst working in the pre hospital environment.

WRO’s Aims to:
Provide a platform for rescue and medical personnel around the world to share and advance rescue science and technology, and to work with partners to prevent death and injury, this will be achieved by means of:

  • The introduction and development of the Rescue Challenge concept at national and international level.
  • Introduction and maintenance of an industry recognised standard for dealing with Road Collisions on a global basis.
  • The development of enhanced proficiency in rescue techniques, incident management and medical care.
  • Introduction of the systematic and team approach.
  • Development of partnerships at national and international levels

 WRO’s Vision:
To create a global rescue environment where persons trapped or injured will be rescued and receive appropriate medical care through the utilisation of good practice that is applied in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
